Benelux Parliament

Under Secretaries General: Furkan Söylem  &  Dilara Yılmaz

Agenda Item: Promoting Sustainable Employment Opportunities for Migrants in the Benelux Region

The Benelux Parliament was established to advise member governments—Belgium, the Netherlands, and Luxembourg—on major economic and social matters in a way that safeguards their common interests, while also strengthening communication among the three countries. Founded as an institution of the Benelux Economic Union, the discussion will be about the immigrant policies to be taken, which would benefit all 3 states. The discrimination against immigrants in the workplace is an issue to be tackled in order to ensure immigrant safety and improve their living conditions. However, as immigrants serve as a cheaper workforce when compared to the local population, their effect on the unemployment of citizens can't be overlooked. Amidst the pros and cons, the participants are expected to devise their solution ideas to the problem with respect to the different political views represented in the house.

Under Secretaries General: Farin Rostami & Bora OÄŸuz
Academic Assistant: Berat Burak Okyar

The Mahsa Amini Protests of 2022 broke out all over Iran upon the death of a young woman in police custody who was arrested due to not complying with the national rules of dress attire. However, contrary to popular belief, this public unrest was not simply a defiance against the Islamic dress codes enforced in the country, but rather a widespread attempt at calling for a complete regime change within Iran, with the Pahlavi Monarchy as the main political opposition.

As the main legislative body of the Islamic Republic, members of the Senate will be focusing on all duties of the organ, alongside making the choice of complying with the people's demands or suppressing them. What will be the future of Iran?

Carthaginian Senate

Under Secretary General: Yağız Eren Åžahin

Agenda Item: 2nd Punic War

“Hannibal passed the Alps; there is no return now.”

The Mediterranean was calm for the last years, the sea was warm, and people were happy. Peace was truly what these people sought... Yet the Empires were not ruled by the people; instead, nobles and soldiers sought triumph over one another. Here we were again, the banners in the sky. Hannibal passed not only the once impossible mountains, but hopes of peace as well. It is time for war; the Carthaginian Empire is in need of guidance. While our greatest commander is on the expedition that will decide our fate, we need to handle everything he has left behind. We are not carrying on a war of extermination against the Romans. We are contending for honour and empire. Our ancestors yielded to Roman valour. We are endeavouring that others, in their turn, will be obliged to yield to our good fortune and our valour.

Under Secretary General: BaÅŸar Naci Açıkalın
Academic Assistant: Fatma Göknur Engin

Agenda Item: The Conquest of the Ming Dynasty

The transition from Ming to Qing, also known as the Manchu Conquest of China, was a long-fought conflict spanning decades from 1618 to 1683 between the strongest dynasties of China for control of the Mandate. As the empire grew weak, the Manchu people were able to expand into and settle in parts of China, eventually managing to seize control of the empire due to widespread rebellions, economic instability, and internal corruption. The participants will be taking the role of important historical figures of the war and will be able to devise their own strategies to be implemented. With its unorthodox rules of procedure, the committee allows the participants to excel on the battlefield and in the magistrates.
